Tom
Tom Sluberski began piano lessons at the age of four, supported by parents who encouraged his love of music from the very beginning. He went on to study piano performance and composition at SUNY Fredonia in Upstate New York. Throughout middle and high school, Tom was actively involved in band and orchestra, studying percussion and trombone, and he also pursued private drum lessons during these years. He has over 10 years of teaching experience, instructing students in both piano and drums. Tom’s teaching approach focuses on helping young students discover the joy of music while building strong fundamentals in a fun, encouraging environment. He believes music supports many important skills beyond the instrument itself, including memory, creativity, self-expression, imagination, and hand-eye coordination, and most importantly, that learning music should be enjoyable. As a lifelong musician, Tom has explored a wide range of musical styles, including jazz, Latin, Indian, and Middle Eastern music. He remains an active performer, playing locally with tribute bands, performing solo for dinners and weddings, and serving as a fill-in keyboardist for worship services. In addition to piano and drums, Tom also plays electric bass and the Celtic bouzouki. Tom is passionate about inspiring young students and helping them build a lifelong appreciation for music.
